DTM CLP2200e

The CLP2200e is aimed at companies that want to print their own full-colour labels in-house, in the quantities they need and when they need them — instead of ordering pre-printed rolls for every product, version and language. It prints logos, photos, barcodes and variable data in a single pass, in 16.7 million colours.

Ink comes in four separate cartridges — a large 78 ml black and 26 ml cyan, magenta and yellow — so only the colour that runs out is replaced, which keeps the cost per label down on designs where one colour dominates. The printhead is user-replaceable: the same printer runs dye ink for bright colours or pigment ink for labels that need to resist water and light, and switching is a matter of minutes.

It is built for production use rather than the office: rolls up to 250 mm outer diameter on a 76 mm core, labels from 20 to 210 mm wide and up to 1.2 m long, USB, wired Ethernet and a 24 V PLC connection. The CLP2200ep is the peeler version, which presents each label only after it has been fully printed, ready to be picked up by an applicator, a conveyor system or a robot arm.
