The SP55xx is a deliberately localised antenna, covering roughly a 600 × 600 mm area. That narrow field is the feature: it logs what passes through one defined spot — a will-call window, a handover point — without picking up everything nearby.
It is an add-on rather than a complete reader, and runs off Zebra's FX fixed readers, which are ordered separately.
