Zebra ZD230

The ZD230 is the ZD220 with room to network: a factory-installed option adds Ethernet, Bluetooth 4.1, or 802.11ac Wi-Fi with Bluetooth 4.1 — one per printer, chosen at order time rather than field-installed later. It carries the same ZPL II/EPL2/XML firmware and non-Zebra command-language emulation as the ZD220, so it drops into an existing fleet without rewriting label formats.

Print speed is up to 6 in./s (152 mm/s) at 203 dpi over a 104 mm maximum print width, with up to 991 mm of label length. Media runs 25.4-112 mm wide on 127 mm OD rolls, on a 12.7, 25.4 or (with an adapter) 38.1 mm core; ribbon runs 33.8-109.2 mm wide, up to 300 m to a roll — longer than the ZD220's 74 m maximum, for fewer changes on high-volume runs. Memory is 128 MB Flash and 128 MB SDRAM. As with the ZD220, there's a single LED and single feed/pause button, no display, and no Real Time Clock option.

A separate, simplified build — the ZD230DA — is documented on its own spec sheet: 8 MB Flash/16 MB SDRAM, an optional 300 dpi resolution the standard ZD230 doesn't offer, USB-to-Serial as the only connectivity (no Ethernet/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth option), a fixed 220 VAC/50 Hz supply rather than auto-detect, and TSPL-subset compatibility alongside ZPL/EPL. It's a different printer under the same family name, not a factory option on the standard ZD230.
