Zebra ZT421

The ZT421 is the 6-inch sibling of the ZT411, built on the same platform and sharing its 4.3-inch colour touch display, metal frame and bi-fold door, side-loading supplies path, and tool-free maintenance. What it trades for the extra width is resolution and a few 4-inch-only options: 600 dpi, the ZeroLiner linerless configuration, the on-metal RFID kit and the field-installable Automation kit (extended peel mechanism, captured media spindle, applicator interface card) are all ZT411-exclusive per Zebra's own spec sheet — the ZT421 tops out at 300 dpi and doesn't automate into a print-and-apply system the way its narrower sibling does.

Print speed reaches 12 ips (305 mm/s), over a 168 mm maximum print width and up to 2591 mm of continuous print length at 203 dpi. Media runs 51-178 mm wide in tear/cutter mode (51-171 mm in peel/rewind), on the same 203 mm/76 mm-core roll option as the ZT411; ribbon runs 51-174 mm wide, 450 m to a roll. Standard connectivity is USB 2.0 (high-speed), RS-232 Serial, 10/100 Ethernet, Bluetooth 4.1 and dual USB Host, with two open card slots for a second Ethernet port, Parallel, an 802.11ax/Bluetooth 5.3 or 802.11ac/Bluetooth 4.2 wireless card, or an Applicator Interface.

UHF RFID (EPC Gen 2 V2.1, ISO/IEC 18000-63, RAIN RFID) is available factory- or field-installed on the ZT421R, with the same adaptive encoding as the rest of Zebra's RFID range.
