A wearable-format touch computer, not a gun-grip handheld — worn on a hip holster or shoulder strap, it auto-triggers scanning by proximity so pickers keep both hands free for the case or tote they're carrying.
The TC8300 turns barcode scanning into a hands-free step: worn on a hip holster or shoulder strap, its proximity sensor triggers close-up or far-range scanning automatically as a case, tote or shelf label comes into range, so the worker's hands stay on what they're carrying. A 4-inch transflective display stays readable in bright dock lighting or direct sun, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 platform runs the same Android line-of-business apps as Zebra's gun-grip TC7x/TC5x family.
It's aimed squarely at manufacturing and distribution-center picking, put-away and replenishment work, where a worker's hands need to be free for the product rather than the scanner.
