The FS42 is built for PLC-controlled track and trace at speed, and its quad-core processor is the reason: throughput on decoding, and enough headroom left for machine vision work in the same pass.
It is optimised for deep learning and AI-based applications, where the rule cannot be written down and the system has to be trained on examples instead. A software licence turns it into a machine vision smart camera.
