Food & Beverages
Clear dates, reliable traceability and no stopped lines — coding and labelling for food and drink producers.
Food and beverage lines run fast, often around the clock, and every pack must leave the factory with a legible best-before date, batch number and — increasingly — a scannable code. A missing or smudged code means reworked stock, rejected deliveries or a recall you cannot trace.
MELARKO equips food and drink producers with coders, labellers and consumables chosen for their packaging, line speed and environment — from cold, wet dairy lines to dusty bakeries and high-speed bottling halls.
Primary packaging
Bottles, cans, cups and caps. Continuous inkjet (CIJ) printers are the workhorse here: non-contact, fast, and able to print on glass, PET, metal and plastic, including curved and moving surfaces. Food-grade and quick-drying inks cope with condensation and cold products.

Flexible packaging. On flow-wrappers, bagging machines (VFFS) and tray sealers, a thermal transfer direct print module prints dates, barcodes and logos in high quality directly onto the film.
Products: direct print modules · thermal ribbons
Jars, bottles and tins. Automatic and semi-automatic labelling machines apply front, back or wrap-around labels accurately and consistently, replacing slow manual labelling.

Small runs and flat surfaces. Thermal inkjet gives crisp, cartridge-based printing with virtually no maintenance — ideal for smaller producers and offline coding.

Secondary packaging
Cartons and cases. Large-character drop-on-demand printers put product names, batch data and barcodes straight onto corrugated cases, removing the need for pre-printed boxes. High-resolution printers go further, printing sharp text, logos and GS1 barcodes.
Products: DOD printers · high-resolution printers
Labels on cases and trays. Print-and-apply systems print variable data and apply the label automatically, on top, side or around the corner of the case.

Tertiary packaging
Pallets. Automatic pallet labelling places SSCC/GS1 logistics labels on one or more sides, so your customers’ warehouses can scan and receive your goods without delay.
Products: print & apply systems · industrial label printers · barcode scanners
Checking every code
Code and label verification with fixed scanners or machine vision confirms that each pack carries the correct, readable information before it leaves the line.
