Zebra ZT220

The ZT220 shares the ZT230's print mechanism and most of its specifications, but trades the metal media cover for plastic and the graphic LCD for a simple 3-button keypad with status LEDs — a lighter, less expensive build for the same direct-thermal-standard, factory-optional-thermal-transfer printing. It isn't available in all regions.

Programmable print speed runs 51-152 mm/s in 1-inch increments, over a 104 mm maximum print width and up to 3988 mm of continuous print length at 203 dpi. Media runs 19.4-114 mm wide on rolls up to 203 mm OD on a 76 mm core; ribbon runs 40-110 mm wide, 450 m to a roll, wound ink-side out. Communication is USB 2.0 and RS-232 Serial as standard, with one option slot for Parallel, a 10/100 Ethernet print server, or 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi.

Unlike the ZT230, there's no liner take-up option — media handling is limited to the standard peel or cutter add-ons. Firmware is ZPL/ZPL II plus EPL (203 dpi models only) for legacy format compatibility, and XML-enabled printing for direct XML label formatting without a separate print server.
